More about Raymond D White
Raymond graduated from Manchester University and qualified as an optometrist in 1979 with a Fellowship from the British College Of Optometrists.
After three years gathering a wealth of experience working for individual and multiple optical groups, Raymond opened his first practice in Easterly Road in Leeds in 1982.
Raymond was visiting care homes and patients in their homes from opening. This was long before the Government initiative that remunerated optometrists to examine patients at home. He simply saw this as an additional needed service for the housebound.
Today, these visits are part of National Health Guidelines and form a core part of Raymond’s work.
In 2001 Raymond moved his practice to Chapel Allerton in Leeds where he is based today.
The practice houses a specialized Domiciliary Visit unit run by a dedicated team of support staff.
For twenty seven years Raymond has been an external Examiner for the British College of Optometrists. Examining at the Final Qualifying stage for students, this responsible position is close to Raymond’s heart in maintaining professional optometry standards for the next generation.
